Ramey’s background in public programming, combined with her belief that the arts and education are imperative to a healthy community, will support the 85-year-old family foundation in furthering its mission. The work of Kohler Foundation encompasses five major areas of concentration: art preservation, grants, scholarships, a performing arts series (the Distinguished Guest Series), and the management of the Waelderhaus – an Austrian house museum.

"Angela’s commitment to the Foundation and her extensive experience make her the ideal choice to lead the organization," said Carla Ross, Kohler Foundation Board President "We have full confidence in her ability to continue driving our mission forward and maintaining the high standards of excellence that have become synonymous with Kohler Foundation."

Ramey had been Interim Executive Director since August 2024 after serving as Senior Manager of programs since her original hire in May 2023.  As Interim Executive Director, Ramey successfully assumed the Foundation’s day-to-day management while maintaining her program responsibilities. Ramey will continue to oversee the Distinguished Guest Series, grants, and scholarship programs.

Before the Foundation, Ramey worked at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan for over 10 years in Public Programming primarily within the Performing Arts. In that role, she earned a reputation as a respected and impactful leader working in varied capacities, including the Levitt Amp Sheboygan Music Series.

Ramey earned her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Wisconsin–Madison after attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. In addition to her professional repertoire, Ramey is on the board of the Belladonna Film Project (president), UW-Green Bay College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Advisory Board (member), and has served on the City of Sheboygan Common Council for three years as the alder for District 5, with her term ending in April 2025.

Ramey succeeds former executive director Laura Roenitz, who had assumed the role in 2019 after the retirement of Christine Taylor.
