BMO Financial Group, Corporate Art Collection
BMO closely manages and on occasion deaccessions art from their permanent collection They have come to rely on KFI to repair and conserve damaged pieces and find new permanent homes for the art.
Among the work acquired through BMO Financial were a group of paintings that hung in the executive dining room since the mid-1970s. These included Leon Berkowitz’s “The Four Sequences,” a major body of work and much in need of conservation. After extensive conservation by Parma Conservation, Chicago, the Berkowitz pieces and other works were gifted to University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and placed in their new Alumni and Welcome Center.
The collection also included artworks by well-known artists that include Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, David Bates and Robert Swain. Artworks were gifted to John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Edgewood College, St. Norbert College, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus and Wisconsin Historical Society.
